purpose
The purpose of a music video is to link and go with the audio that HEDEGAARD has made. It works as promotion for HEDEGAARD and promotes their tracks, enabling the song to be performed on television music channels and on websites to increase the following of their music.
labels that include Vevo and MTV and YouTube would have to pay royalties to HEDEGAARD to play Happy Home to there audience by media streams such as television, online and on the radio, and so this is how record labels and musicians earn there money .
If the track did't have a music video, there would be less ways the song can be promoted and so having a video widens the variety of channels they can use to distribute and promote the song and artist. It's usually available online straight away after being uploaded and for aslong as you want be fore you take it down ,this helps to maintain a musician popularity and enables fans and viewers to watch and listen to the track where ever and when ever they want. having a music video will also increase the amount of fans the band has if the video is captivating, exquisite and unique, this could gather more viewers and fans.
Critique
most of the critique is going to be based on the style of editing in the music video, this is because lots of editing techniques have been used but not effectively and it has created a very boring music video.
at the start of the video there are a set of establishing shots, this helps set the scene and show Lukas Graham is in a hospital As we go through the song, the shot lengths become very long and slows the pace of the track. As the track picks up over and pace at around the 1 minute mark in the coruse cuts become longer which is a strange thing to happen because you would expect the cuts to get shorter , which would help increases the pace of the video, coinciding with the audio but as they get longer it has an opposite effect. After this period of long cuts the music video returns to displaying areas of the set this unlike the music video is very well done the actual location is very eye catching this also gives the opportunity to display relevant props such as the flipped police car, which will be seen further in the video.There are two medium length cuts that display an homeless women in the street this is when the chorus begins, and at this point the artist opens starts having an argument with her and it fits well with the lyrics as it sounds like he's having an argument with him self.
Next we see a long following shot then a POV shot, this gives the look that the artist walks down the hallway it also shows what he sees, and might reflect his thoughts. There is another POV shot at 3.28 seconds, as the artist opens the door and looks in the room this leaves us confused as we don't understand what the room is or who it belongs to we have to assume that it is his but it leaves the viewer with unanswered questions.

the gap between cuts in this video where to long this made the video rather boring and not very interesting.the cuts did't flow with the music all of the edits where same this made it very predictable and boring
narrative
there wasn't a story with this music video it was just LUKAS GRAHMS walking around different locations through an empty street seeing different things that did't link to the song i think the video could have used a stronger narrative

camera in the video there was only a few shot variety there shots where just the artist walking towards the camera around the street then a few shots of LUKAS GRAHMS interacting with other people this made the music video predictable and boring

The purpose of the song and audio is basically to convey how the artist is feeling and what is going on in his head.He is singing about how of the world was happy and just danced around it would be a better place this song is very popular and influential piece of music, also the music video links well with the music as it is happy and fun. This video simply shows people dancing around in the streets and also the artist himself singing the song and other people lip singing the song,Throughout the whole song the lyrics compliantly link with the song and music video. It present the artist and people dancing around and other people seeing people dance makes them happy

The editing is very simple but this works well with the song, the cuts throughout the song, and the camera filming just follow pharrell williams and crew around different streets dancing with an orange of different length cuts.This resulted in a relative theme but it was till exciting and interesting very much like the song, an exciting music video is more likely to draw in more audiences.
There are lots of different locations used in this music video which really helps to keep the music video interesting but they could have saved money using a green screens could have been used.
the camera work on this video dosnt have a wide variety it shots it mainly shows medium long shots of people walking down the street or in places dancing however this doesn't make it boring because each shot is cut to a different person dancing and because there is such a range of different looks or these people it makes the camera work iterating with the different ways that the dance and move following shots are used a couple of times throughout the video to stay with the performance dancing on the streets this good because it makes the video seen more sportiness and funny with people just randomly dancing he street
there is no narrative to this music video because it is about different people being happy and dancing in the streets this song and music video link because he whole meaning of the song is the fact that you don't need a reason to be happy just be happy
There are a variety of Mise-En-Scene used in this music video such as the variety of different out fits worn by pharrell williams this dosent add to the narrative of the music video but it keep the music video interesting as at one point he is wearing a minon out fit this is also because the music features in the movie despicable me .
