1.instituational/reference information
i am analysing outcasts roses video from 2004 this is one of there earliest song they in corporations the different genres of R&B and soul and hip hop in there song this song is a very broad characterisation of the genre because both artists have very different styles which sit on different ends of the R&B spectrum this allows a lot of diversity in and between there songs this song was directed by Bryan Barber he has directed three other okast videos,
2.what is the relationship between lyrics and visuals
the dancing in the music video links to the lyrics being sung during the shot
3 what is the relationship between music and visuals
the video cuts in time with the running beat through out the the song this allows the video to create the feel that the song was made for the video the transisatsion are a mix of short cuts and long transition which well to the feel and the beat of the song. the song does show a few solo instruments during the music video this is to emphasise the narrative part of the video .
4.the record commonly are looking to sell this track by promoting it with the video then people will remember it and will buy in on the album or the track on iTunes. the image being protraed in this video about the artist is about there differing music tastes and there songs are a battle between them.this video is very similar to the other video the artist has produced all of the artist videos are theatrical and are a spectacle and this video even hints at grease the musical and west side story.there are no motifs in this music video because it is a completely different scene to there last music video
5.Caroline in this video is given a more sexualised costume then the other girls in this video such as a shorter skirt this is to draw the viewer to her because she is the point of interest.Just as the costume was used for caroline the band is put on a stage this is draw your attention to them.
